Rattan furniture maintenance method

1. Avoid getting close to fire and heat sources

The rattan that is too close to the fire source or the heat source is easy to become dry and brittle, the toughness becomes poor, and it is difficult to restore, especially some parts that are adhered with natural glue are far away. Therefore, remember that rattan products should not be close to the fire source and heat source. If you want to put hot pot, casserole and other very hot food on the rattan table, you must remember to put a heat insulation pad.

2. Keep ventilation

The cross section of rattan is covered with fine conduits, so rattan furniture can absorb a certain amount of moisture. But if too much moisture is absorbed, the furniture will become soft, loose in structure, sagging in plane, and mildew can easily grow in the woven mesh. Therefore, in the south, especially in the rainy season, the ventilation of rattan furniture is particularly important. On a sunny day, it is best to clean the furniture and move it to a place with a draft to "blow it", which can avoid the formation of mildew and keep it dry. Don't ask for "dry" eagerness, lift it to a place where it is exposed to direct sunlight, the contrast between the tide and the dry, the rattan is easy to deform or even break quickly.

3. Avoid moisture deformation

The placement of books on the rattan bookshelf is best to follow the principle of heavy on both sides and light in the middle, so that the weight of the books can be placed symmetrically on the left and right to prevent the bookcase from sagging and deforming due to the weight in the middle.

The advantage of rattan furniture is that it is fixed in its original shape after being deformed by moisture, and it will still return to its original shape and size after drying or drying in the shade. Therefore, when the rattan furniture is damp and sagging, find a way to reduce its load, support it skillfully and evenly, so as to keep the original weaving shape and prevent the gap from being deformed. If it is a seat, you can put a square stool or a storage box under it through the rattan surface to help support the rattan surface, so that it can be slowly dried and not deformed.

4. Anti-moth-eaten

Sealed rattan furniture, such as wardrobes, utility cabinets, bookcases with doors, etc., can hang one or two small cloth bags mixed with fresh peppercorns and fine salt in the cabinets to prevent moths. What should I do when I find some signs of moths on rattan furniture? Zanthoxylum bungeanum or chili pepper can kill insects and moths, and there is no damage to rattan furniture. Stir-fry half liang of Chinese prickly ash and half liang of fine salt together, grind them, stuff them into the holes, and then wrap the noodles with plastic sheets or small plastic bags to keep the smell from leaking out. Switch to hot pepper noodles in the same way. 24 hours after the moth face is sealed for insecticide, untie the plastic sheet, and partially irrigate the moth face with boiling water to kill the remaining moths as much as possible. Dry with a soft towel after Z to prevent the spread of moths.

Solid wood furniture maintenance method

1. Do not use a damp cloth to wipe furniture dust. The dust on the surface of the furniture should be gently brushed off first, and then wiped with a dry cotton cloth to prevent the particle dust from damaging the surface of the furniture.

2. Do not directly use chemical cleaners, alcohol, gasoline to wipe stained mahogany furniture, because these so-called cleaners wipe off the luster of the paint and lacquer on the surface of the furniture. A natural conditioner like natural walnut oil or beeswax is right to dab the stain.
